Qatar SC recently celebrated reaching the Amir Cup final after a thrilling victory over Al Gharafa. The semi-final match ended in a 2-2 draw, leading to a penalty shootout where Qatar SC emerged victorious with a 4-3 win. This marks their first appearance in the final in 20 years, where they will face Al Sadd, the record 18-time champions, at the Education City Stadium. Qatar SC previously won the Amir Cup twice, with their last triumph dating back to the 1975-76 season under the name Al Esteqlal. Despite facing tough competition from Al Gharafa, they showcased determination and resilience to secure their spot in the final.

In the semi-final match, Qatar SC displayed their prowess on the field as they put up a tough fight against the favorites, Al Gharafa. With the scores remaining level after regulation time and extra time, the fate of the match was determined by a penalty shootout. Qatar SC stayed calm under pressure and emerged victorious, with substitute Ali Awad scoring the winning penalty. The team’s captain, Yacine Brahimi, had a good performance overall but missed two crucial penalties during the shootout. Despite this setback, Qatar SC remained focused and clinched the win in front of a cheering crowd of 14,609 fans.

The excitement of the match heightened in the second half, with all the goals being scored during this period. Bruno Tabata opened the scoring for Qatar SC with a penalty, followed by goals from Ferjani Sassi and Brahimi for Al Gharafa. However, Awad’s late goal leveled the match and sent it into extra time. Both teams showcased impressive gameplay, with Qatar SC goalkeeper Sataa Abdulnaser Al Abbasi making crucial saves to keep his team in the game. Ultimately, the match was decided by a tense penalty shootout where Qatar SC emerged as the deserving winners.

Leading up to the final, Qatar SC will be looking to maintain their momentum and prepare for a tough battle against Al Sadd. As they aim to capture the Amir Cup title once again, the team will need to continue their strong performances and work together to overcome their formidable opponents. The players and officials of Qatar SC have every reason to celebrate their impressive journey to the final, and they will be looking to make their mark in the history books with a memorable victory. With the support of their fans and the determination to succeed, Qatar SC is set to face their biggest challenge yet in the final showdown.
