Msheireb Properties, the leading sustainable property developer in Qatar, has entered into a partnership with Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore enhancing the smart city capabilities of Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD), Qatar’s flagship sustainable development project. The collaboration will leverage Schneider Electric’s expertise in digital automation and energy management to further innovate and advance sustainable solutions.

Under the agreement, Schneider Electric will conduct a three-month Proof of Concept (POC) project to showcase the capabilities of its Smart City Integration platforms within MDD. The POC will focus on applications such as traffic management, proactive and predictive maintenance of facilities for corporate tenants, predictive analysis for MEP facilities, and corrective decision-making to address individual resident needs before complaints arise. This initiative aims to improve overall efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity within the smart city environment of MDD.

Engr. Ali Al Kuwari, CEO of Msheireb Properties, expressed excitement about the collaboration with Schneider Electric and highlighted the importance of urban environments in driving energy consumption and carbon emissions. He emphasized the need for sustainable, energy-saving solutions that utilize data analytics and artificial intelligence to provide a seamless experience for visitors and tenants. The partnership with Schneider Electric aligns with Msheireb Properties’ vision of staying at the forefront of tech innovation and adopting sustainable practices.

Louie Jarouche, Country Manager for Qatar and Kuwait at Schneider Electric, emphasized the company’s commitment to making cities and communities more innovative and energy-efficient. By leveraging smart city technologies, Schneider Electric aims to create sustainable, connected, and responsive living and working spaces that cater to the needs of residents. The collaboration with Msheireb Properties will enable the realization of smart city potential in enhancing wellbeing and building resilient, innovative urban environments for the future.

The partnership between Msheireb Properties and Schneider Electric underscores the real estate developer’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its sustainable infrastructure in Qatar. The collaboration signifies a shared dedication to continuous improvement and innovation in sustainable practices within the built environment. By joining forces, the two companies aim to create a more sustainable, efficient, and interconnected urban environment within MDD, setting a new standard for smart city development and sustainable living in Qatar.

In attendance at the MoU signing ceremony were key representatives from Msheireb Properties and Schneider Electric, including Engr. Ali Al Kuwari, CEO, Engr. Faisal AlMalki, COO of Msheireb Properties, Manish Pant, Executive Vice President for International Operations at Schneider Electric, and Louie Jarouche, Country Manager for Qatar & Kuwait at Schneider Electric. The ceremony marked the official beginning of the partnership and the joint efforts of both companies to drive innovation, sustainability, and smart city development in Qatar.
