Saudi Arabia has once again been elected to lead the Executive Council of the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). Hani Al-Muqbel, a member of the Executive Council, has been chosen as Chairman for the 2024-2026 term by a majority vote, marking the third consecutive time Saudi Arabia has held this position. Qatar and Jordan were elected as Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur, respectively.

During its previous terms, Saudi Arabia’s leadership resulted in significant positive outcomes and fostered a collaborative spirit within ALECSO. The country’s tenure, extending nearly three years since July 2021, has been marked by substantial advancements in educational, cultural, and scientific fields across the Arab region. Saudi Arabia has implemented strategies that enhanced the council’s efficiency and transformed its vision into concrete achievements. These efforts have been aligned with the organization’s broader goals and the specific needs of its member states. Al-Muqbel expressed gratitude for the continued trust and support from the member states, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening relationships within the organization and advancing collective Arab interests. “We clearly appreciate their vote for Saudi Arabia, which is still keen to strengthen relations at the level of organization’s member states and make decisions that suit the aspirations of the Arab,” Al-Muqbel stated, looking forward to achieving more joint Arab successes through unified efforts.

As Chairman of the Executive Council, Hani Al-Muqbel is expected to lead ALECSO in its mission to advance education, culture, and science within the Arab world. His leadership has been characterized by a focus on collaboration and innovation, leading to tangible improvements in these vital sectors. Under his guidance, ALECSO is poised to continue making significant strides in enhancing the quality of education, promoting cultural exchange, and fostering scientific advancements throughout the region.

The election of Saudi Arabia to lead ALECSO once again reflects the country’s commitment to supporting the development of education, culture, and science in the Arab world. Saudi Arabia’s leadership has been instrumental in driving positive change and progress within the organization, garnering praise from member states for its effective and strategic leadership. The country’s ability to align its strategies with the needs and goals of ALECSO has resulted in meaningful outcomes that have benefitted member states and advanced the organization’s mission.

Al-Muqbel’s re-election as Chairman of the Executive Council indicates a vote of confidence in his leadership abilities and vision for ALECSO. His tenure has been marked by innovation, efficiency, and a strong dedication to advancing the organization’s objectives. By continuing to prioritize collaboration and unity among member states, Saudi Arabia under Al-Muqbel’s leadership is poised to build on its past successes and achieve even greater accomplishments in the coming years. With a clear focus on serving the interests and aspirations of the Arab world, Saudi Arabia’s leadership of ALECSO is expected to continue making a positive impact in the region.

Looking ahead, Saudi Arabia’s leadership of ALECSO for the 2024-2026 term signifies a continued commitment to driving progress and prosperity in education, culture, and science throughout the Arab world. Al-Muqbel’s leadership, alongside that of Qatar and Jordan as Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur, respectively, is expected to further strengthen the organization’s effectiveness and impact. The member countries of the Executive Council have expressed confidence in Saudi Arabia’s ability to lead ALECSO towards achieving shared goals and fostering collaboration among Arab nations. By harnessing the collective efforts and resources of member states, ALECSO under Saudi Arabia’s leadership is well-positioned to realize its vision of a more vibrant, interconnected, and prosperous Arab region.
