The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has announced new regulations regarding Umrah permits during the upcoming Hajj season. From May 24 to June 26, Umrah permits will not be issued to individuals who do not have a confirmed Hajj permit. This directive aims to facilitate the arrival of Hajj pilgrims from around the world and ensure that they can perform their rituals at the Grand Mosque in Makkah with ease and comfort.
To enforce these regulations, the Ministry of Interior will impose fines of up to SR10,000 on violators, including Saudi citizens, expatriates, and visitors. Anyone caught entering Makkah without a Hajj permit during the specified period will be subject to penalties. These fines will apply to individuals found within the holy city of Makkah, the Central Haram Area, the Holy Sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, as well as other designated locations.
In cases of repeated violations, the fine may be doubled, reaching up to SR100,000. Expatriates who are caught violating the regulations will face deportation to their home countries and a ban on reentering the Kingdom. Additionally, individuals caught transporting violators of Hajj regulations may face imprisonment for up to six months and fines of up to SR50,000. The vehicle used for transportation may also be confiscated, and the violating transporter may be deported after serving their sentence.
The Ministry emphasizes the importance of adhering to Hajj regulations to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for pilgrims. It encourages the public to report any fake Hajj campaigns or violations by contacting the designated phone numbers in each region.
