The Cabinet of Qatar recently held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani at the Amiri Diwan. After the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi issued a statement outlining the topics discussed. One of the key decisions was the approval of a draft Cabinet decision to establish the National Committee on Memory of the World. This committee, housed in the Ministry of Culture, will work to preserve the world’s documentary heritage in coordination with UNESCO.

Another important decision made by the Cabinet was the approval to host a conference organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization on air transport facilitation in Doha during the second quarter of 2025. The Cabinet also ratified several agreements, including cooperation in the field of digital government with Saudi Arabia, recognition of higher education studies in Arab countries, cooperation in education with Nigeria, and regulation of employment of workers from Nigeria in Qatar. Additionally, agreements were reached with Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Nepal in various fields.

The Cabinet also approved a draft contribution agreement between Qatar Fund for Development and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs to support the UN Central Emergency Response Fund in 2024. A cooperation protocol in journalism and media was also approved between Qatar and Nepal. The Cabinet also reviewed the report of the ministerial committee for promoting good values and morals in Qatari society, as well as the annual report of the standing committee for rescue, relief, and humanitarian aid in afflicted areas in brotherly and friendly countries.

Overall, the recent Cabinet meeting in Qatar covered a wide range of topics and decisions aimed at fostering international cooperation and preserving cultural heritage. From establishing committees to hosting international conferences and ratifying agreements with various countries, the Cabinet appears to be focused on enhancing relations and supporting humanitarian efforts. With a clear direction towards promoting good values and morals in society, Qatar is taking steps to contribute to global development and cooperation in various fields.
