Bahrain and France business leaders discuss increased economic partnership at summit

Top-tier Bahraini and French business officials and executives came together to discuss strategies for enhancing business relations and fostering new avenues of cooperation. The Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber, Sameer Nass, highlighted the growing relationship between Bahrain and France, especially in business, investment, and trade. The trade volume between the two countries saw a significant increase of 33% to $512.5 million in 2023.

The French Ambassador to Bahrain, Eric Giraud-Telme, along with Jean-Christophe Durand, Chairman of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Executive Director Rim Jalali were welcomed by Nass for the discussions. The focus was on exploring the vast business potential between France and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting highlighted the strategic location, strong infrastructure, and highly skilled workforce of the region, showcasing opportunities for collaboration.

One of the key topics of discussion was the upcoming “Vision Golfe” initiative, which aims to facilitate dialogue between business owners and decision-makers from the GCC and France. This initiative seeks to strengthen ties and create more opportunities for trade and investment between the two regions. Prominent figures such as Vice Treasurer Waleed Kanoo, Bureau Member Bassim Al Saie, and Board Members Yousuf Salahuddin, Abdulwahab Al Hawaj, and Yaqoob Al Awadhi, alongside CEO Atef Al Khaja, were also present at the meeting.

The discussions focused on streamlining operations and exploring ways to further enhance cooperation in various sectors. The meeting aimed to strengthen business relationships and create a conducive environment for investment and trade between Bahrain and France.
