Additionally, the company launched the “Thabit” service, which allows customers to make fixed monthly payments throughout the year to avoid financial difficulties arising from high electricity bills during the summer. Alaa Hassan Al Lawati, CEO of Nama Electricity Distribution Company, emphasized the company’s focus on ensuring the reliability of the electricity network by implementing and enhancing various stations and electricity lines.
He highlighted the development of comprehensive contingency plans to handle emergency interruptions effectively during the summer period and emphasized the company’s commitment to following procedures and standards related to the health and safety of the electricity network. Nama Distribution Company is actively exploring the use of modern technology in monitoring and managing electricity networks, with a significant deployment of smart meters currently underway. Eng. Ali Essa Shammas, CEO of Nama Dhofar Services, emphasized the company’s efforts in preparation for the upcoming Dhofar Khareef season to meet the rising demand for electricity in the Governorate of Dhofar.
Furthermore, the Nama Group companies provided an update on the progress of the smart meters project, with a completion rate exceeding 45% and ongoing work to extend coverage to all electricity accounts. This comprehensive deployment aims to maximize the benefits and leverage the project’s potential to the fullest extent possible.
