UAE: New program established to assist Emirati youth with various wedding expenses

Emirati couples in Abu Dhabi planning to get married can benefit from specialized services and additional perks through the collaboration between the Department of Community Development (DCD) – Abu Dhabi and Fazaa. By registering for Fazaa, soon-to-be-married couples can access exclusive benefits like discounts at stores, car insurance, and personal accident compensation. Additionally, they can receive guidance, family mediation, and family and psychological counseling through the upcoming launch of the Medeem Centre for Family Flourishing in the second quarter of this year.

Upon becoming Medeem gold card holders, engaged couples can enjoy discounts on various wedding services, including hall and kosha expenses, photography, lighting, sound, music, decorations, bridal attire, and more. They can also avail discounts on hotels, property, furniture, jewelry, travel, and other services. Lt. Colonel Ahmed Bouharoun Al Shamsi emphasized that the Medeem card will provide a range of exclusive benefits and offers to citizens registered in the program, especially those getting married and members of the Medeem Centre for Family Flourishing.

The eligibility criteria for enrolling in the Medeem Family Preparation Centre program for Emiratis planning to tie the knot will be announced soon. Specific conditions for obtaining the Medeem card will also be provided upon the launch of the Medeem Centre for Family Flourishing. The initiative aims to support and assist Emirati couples in their journey towards marriage and family life, offering them tailored services, guidance, and discounts on various essential services to ensure a smooth transition into married life.

The collaboration between DCD – Abu Dhabi and Fazaa underscores the commitment of the government to support its citizens in important life events such as marriage. By providing customized services, exclusive benefits, and discounts on essential services, the initiative aims to make the process of getting married more accessible and affordable for Emirati couples in Abu Dhabi. Through the Medeem Centre for Family Flourishing, soon-to-be-married couples can access a range of resources, including family mediation, counseling, and discounts on wedding services, enabling them to start their married life on a positive note.

In addition to financial benefits, the Medeem program emphasizes the importance of family well-being and flourishing, offering couples access to resources and support to strengthen their relationship and address any challenges that may arise.
