The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion is the guest of honor at the 33rd Edition of the Doha International Book Fair, drawing in a large number of visitors eager to explore rare manuscripts and publications that showcase Oman’s rich cultural achievements over the years. Key figures such as Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Culture, and Imad Al Din Hamdan, Palestinian Minister of Culture, have visited the pavilion to admire the literary works and cultural treasures on display.

The Oman pavilion has been a hub for showcasing rare manuscripts, literary works, and cultural treasures, highlighting Oman’s rich literary heritage. Various printing presses participating in the pavilion have displayed publications on the history of the Peninsula, poetry, arts, research, and politics, attracting visitors interested in history and literary studies.

Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Rahbi, representing the Omani Society for Writers and Literati, noted that this is the society’s first participation in the event. Visitors to the pavilion are particularly interested in publications on history and literary studies, reflecting a strong appetite for cultural knowledge among attendees.

The Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra also made a significant contribution to the Doha International Book Fair, showcasing musical pieces that reflect the Sultanate’s musical and cultural heritage. Lt Colonel Fahd bin Said al Farsi highlighted the exceptional talent of the young personnel in the orchestra, demonstrating their skill in playing musical instruments.

In addition to literary and musical offerings, a workshop was held to educate children on environmental awareness and conservation efforts. This initiative aimed to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment among the younger generation, emphasizing the importance of preservation and sustainability.

Overall, the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion has been a focal point of cultural exchange and appreciation at the Doha International Book Fair. The diverse range of manuscripts, publications, musical performances, and educational workshops have all contributed to showcasing Oman’s rich cultural heritage and fostering a deeper understanding of the country’s literary and artistic accomplishments. As the fair continues to attract visitors until 18 May, the Oman pavilion remains a must-visit destination for those eager to explore the Sultanate’s cultural treasures.
