Al Wakrah faced off against Muaither in a thrilling Amir Cup quarter-final match in Doha, Qatar. The game ended in a 3-3 draw and went into a penalty shootout, where Al Wakrah emerged victorious with a 5-4 win. Substitute goalkeeper Omair Al Sayed played a crucial role in the shootout, blocking key shots to secure the win for his team. This victory sets up an exciting quarter-final showdown between Al Wakrah and Al Sadd, who had previously defeated Al Markhiya to advance to the next round.

The match saw Muaither’s Denis Alibekov equalize in the 115th minute with a penalty kick, forcing the game into a shootout. Mohamed Benyettou had earlier scored for Al Wakrah in extra time, giving them the lead before Muaither’s late equalizer. Both teams were tied at 2-2 in regulation time, with Alibekov and Benyettou playing pivotal roles for their respective sides.

In another quarter-final matchup, Al Rayyan secured a comfortable 4-1 victory over Al Khor to advance to the next stage of the tournament. Goals from Roger Guedes, Rodrigo Moreno, and Rodrigo Tabata propelled Al Rayyan to a convincing win. Al Khor managed to pull one goal back through Khaled Radwan, but it was not enough to stop Al Rayyan’s dominance on the field.

Al Sadd also advanced to the quarter-finals after a hard-fought victory against Al Markhiya. Baghdad Bounedjah and Paulo Otavio scored early goals for Al Sadd, but Al Markhiya fought back with goals from Idriss Fettouhi and Noufel Benis. However, Al Sadd held on to secure a 3-2 win and progress in the tournament. Abdullah Al Yazedi’s goal proved to be the difference-maker for Al Sadd in the match.

Overall, the quarter-final matchups in the Amir Cup have produced exciting and competitive games, with teams fighting hard to advance in the tournament. Fans can expect more thrilling moments as the competition progresses towards the final stages. Al Wakrah, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, and other top teams will be looking to showcase their skills and claim the prestigious title of the Amir Cup champions. Stay tuned for more action-packed games in the upcoming rounds of the tournament.
