The partnership with Aspetar reaffirmed Qatar’s standing as a leading sports destination and ensured that athletes at the tournament received world-class medical attention. Aspetar also allocated massage and physio therapists to support the referees participating in the competition.

The medical services provided by Aspetar for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 were available 24 hours a day, with doctors accessible at team hotels and the Medical Command Center round the clock. Dr. Khalid Al Khelaifi, Chief Medical Officer of the LOC’s medical committee, highlighted the legacy of supporting athletes at mega-sporting events in Qatar. The goal was to ensure that the tournament’s participants, who are potential future Olympians, performed at their peak by receiving the best possible medical care.

This edition of the biennial tournament served as Asia’s qualifiers for the Men’s Olympic football tournament in Paris. Japan emerged as champions, followed by Uzbekistan and Iraq in qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Indonesia secured fourth place and will compete in a play-off match against Guinea, the representative from Africa, for a final spot at the Summer Games.
