Umm Salal and Qatar SC both secured their spots in the quarter-finals of the Amir Cup with hard-fought victories. Umm Salal overcame an early setback to defeat Al Bidda 3-1 in extra time, while Qatar SC sealed a 2-0 win against Al Waab. Debutants Al Bidda took the lead through Yousef Ahmed’s early goal, but Oussama Tannane equalized for Umm Salal with a free kick. Despite Al Bidda’s efforts, Umm Salal took control in extra time with goals from Lucas Joao and Kenji Gorre. Qatar SC also claimed a win, with Bruno Tabata and Ali Awaad finding the net against Al Waab.

As Umm Salal and Qatar SC advance to the quarter-finals, Al Gharafa and Al Ahli prepare to face off for a spot in the next round. Al Gharafa’s coach, Pedro Martins, is determined to lead his team to victory after their recent defeat against Al Rayyan. He emphasized the importance of focus and the need to avoid mistakes in the knockout stages of the tournament. On the other hand, Al Ahli’s coach, Khaled Taj, is confident in his team’s ability to secure a positive result against Al Gharafa, despite recognizing the strength of their opponents in the Expo Stars League.

Umm Salal’s victory over Al Bidda showcased their resilience and determination as they fought back from an early deficit. Oussama Tannane’s goal and solid defensive performance set the stage for their success in extra time. Qatar SC’s win against Al Waab highlighted their clinical finishing and defensive solidity. Bruno Tabata and Ali Awaad played crucial roles in securing the victory and advancing to the quarter-finals. Both teams will now await their opponents in the next stage of the Amir Cup.

Al Gharafa and Al Ahli will clash in a highly anticipated match with a spot in the quarter-finals at stake. Pedro Martins is confident in his team’s ability to bounce back and compete for silverware in the tournament. Meanwhile, Khaled Taj is optimistic about Al Ahli’s chances against a formidable opponent in Al Gharafa. The coaches’ mindset and strategies will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of this exciting encounter.
