The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit recently held an introductory meeting in Muscat with governors to discuss the main aspects of its duties and ways to enhance cooperation and partnership with governorates in order to achieve the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. The meeting emphasized the importance of decentralization as a key indicator for the development of governorates and sustainable cities. Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, the Head of the Unit, explained the procedures undertaken by the Unit to follow up on the implementation of the Vision, including the development of “Goal Cards” in partnership with government institutions to define the main objectives and measure their progress.

One of the key topics discussed during the meeting was the project titled “Institution Indices”, which outlines the role of each government department in meeting the targets of Oman Vision 2040. A total of 55 goal cards have been approved until the first quarter of 2024, including those specifically related to the governorates. The Unit is working towards simplifying procedures, facilitating services, and developing systems to ensure that beneficiaries receive high-quality and prompt services as part of the implementation process. This proactive approach will help ensure that the goals of Oman Vision 2040 are met in a timely and efficient manner.

The unit’s collaboration with government institutions is crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of Oman Vision 2040, as each department plays a key role in achieving the overall objectives. By developing clear guidelines and objectives through “Goal Cards”, the Unit is able to monitor progress and ensure accountability. The emphasis on decentralization and the development of governorates and sustainable cities underscores the government’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society in line with the Vision.

During the meeting with governors, the Unit highlighted the importance of cooperation and partnership between all stakeholders involved in the implementation process. By working together, government offices, institutions, and beneficiaries can contribute to the success of Oman Vision 2040. The Unit’s focus on enhancing services and streamlining procedures will help ensure that the goals of the Vision are met effectively and efficiently, benefiting all citizens and residents of Oman.

Overall, the introductory meeting between the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit and governors in Muscat marks an important milestone in the ongoing efforts to achieve the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. By outlining the Unit’s duties and procedures, as well as emphasizing the importance of cooperation and decentralization, the meeting sets the stage for a collaborative approach to realizing the Vision’s objectives. With clear goals and targets in place, the Unit is well-positioned to monitor progress, make adjustments as needed, and ensure that all stakeholders are working towards a common vision for a more prosperous and sustainable Oman.
