A committee has been established by the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) to address citizens’ requests related to the transfer of housing grants under regulations that were in place before October 2018. The committee aims to handle cases that occurred prior to this date, prioritizing the public interest and ensuring that approved regulations are adhered to. Requests for housing grant transfers through sale or exchange with other citizens will be accepted by the committee from May 6 to July 31, 2024, at the ISKAN Abu Dhabi Centre.
To submit a request to the committee, applicants must provide relevant documentation for cases that occurred before October 2, 2018, including the contract of sale or exchange and proof of financial transactions during the conveyance process. Additionally, specific conditions must be met when applying for housing grant conveyance through sale and purchase, such as owning residential land or a suitable housing option in the emirate, not having claimed any other residential land grants or house purchase loans simultaneously, and obtaining written consent from the spouse.
For cases involving the exchange of housing grants with other citizens, the criteria outlined in the updated housing programs and policies in Abu Dhabi must be followed, along with obtaining consent from the spouse. The decisions made by the committee will be final, and no requests will be entertained beyond the specified deadline. Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of ADHA, emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring public interest and resolving housing grant conveyance matters promptly and appropriately through the newly formed committee.
Al Muhairi highlighted the importance of expediting the decision-making process to address cases that occurred before October 2, 2018, while noting that updated provisions and policies apply to newer cases. The committee’s focus is solely on resolving housing grant conveyance issues that predate October 2018, with the aim of providing efficient and conclusive solutions. By following the established guidelines and providing all necessary documentation, individuals seeking to transfer their housing grants can benefit from the committee’s expertise and oversight in ensuring compliance with regulations and prioritizing public interest.
