Longines Hathab season concludes with champions being crowned

The Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour season concluded at Al Shaqab in Qatar, with French rider Cyrine Cherif emerging as the overall Big Tour champion. She rode her bay mare I’am Moerhoeve’s Princess Z C to a fifth-place finish in the final round, securing her top spot in the standings with a total of 255 points. Mohammed Khalifa Albaker and Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi finished in second and third place with 249 and 231 points respectively. Meanwhile, Saeed Hamad Jumaa claimed the overall Medium Tour title, while NK Café took the Medium Tour Team title.

In the Small Tour category, Mohammed Dhafi Al Marri came out on top with 251 points, while Hadi Nasser Al Shahwani won the Amateur Class with the same number of points. In the Future Riders class, Muhammad Abdullah Al Marri and Khaled Jassim Al Suwaidi emerged as champions in their respective age groups. Maryam Ahmed Al Semaitt and Abdullah Khaled Allan Jalandani clinched the Dressage Level 1 and 2 titles respectively.

The champions were crowned by Qatar Equestrian Federation President Badr Mohammed Al Darwish, Social and Sports Activities Support Fund Director of Programs Ahmed Salem Al Ali, and Al Shaqab Commercial Department Director Ahmed Al Hammadi. Faris Saad Al Qahtani won the Open Class competition, with Khaled Mohammed Al Emadi and Hamad Towaim Al Marri finishing second and third respectively. The Big Tour class saw Khaled Abdulaziz Al Eid clinch first and second places, while Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi and Morocco finished third.

Longines Hathab Supreme Organizing Committee Chairman Sheikh Ahmad bin Nooh Al Thani praised the exceptional performances of the riders throughout the season, highlighting the positive impact on Qatar’s representation in international tournaments. He also emphasized the Qatar Equestrian Tours as a significant event in the region, noting the continuous development and increasing number of participants across various categories. Plans for the next year’s Hathab Season are already underway, with more advanced competition, increased financial rewards, and expanded categories on the horizon.
