A 46-year-old Bahraini man has been sentenced to a five-year jail term by the High Criminal Court for attacking a cold store employee. The man, known for his troublesome behavior and failure to pay for purchases, became violent when the employee denied him a pack of cigarettes due to outstanding credit. The man threatened the employee with a cigarette lighter and forcibly took the cigarettes before leaving the store. He also stole a box of sweets and attempted to flee with a box of tissue paper. When the employee tried to retrieve the tissue paper, the man threw a metal object at him, causing injury. The man was found guilty of theft, assault, and property damage, leading to his five-year jail sentence.

The incident occurred while the employee was working at the cold store and the defendant asked for a pack of cigarettes. Despite the man’s history of not paying for purchases, the employee refused to provide the cigarettes, leading to a confrontation. In response, the man resorted to threats and violence, leaving the employee in fear for his safety. The employee ultimately handed over the pack of cigarettes to avoid further escalation of the situation.

After taking the cigarettes, the man proceeded to take a box of sweets and a box of tissue paper from the store, showing a pattern of theft and disregard for the store’s property. As the man attempted to leave with the stolen items, the employee tried to stop him and retrieve the tissue paper. This led to a physical altercation between the two, culminating in the man injuring the employee by throwing a metal object at him. The employee sustained injuries as confirmed by a medical report.

Legal action was taken against the Bahraini man following the incident, with the High Criminal Court charging him with theft, assault, and property damage. The court found him guilty on all counts and sentenced him to a five-year jail term as a consequence of his actions. The severity of the sentence reflects the court’s stance on violent and criminal behavior, especially when directed towards innocent individuals simply carrying out their duties.

This case serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding law and order in society and the consequences of criminal behavior. The employee, who was simply doing his job, suffered physical harm due to the defendant’s senseless actions. The court’s decision to hand down a significant jail term to the man sends a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated and will be met with serious repercussions.

Overall, the incident involving the Bahraini man’s attack on a cold store employee highlights the need for individuals to respect the law and others in society. Through legal proceedings and sentencing, the court aims to uphold justice and ensure the safety of all members of the community. The five-year jail term serves as both punishment for the defendant and a deterrent for others who may contemplate engaging in similar criminal acts. The case underscores the importance of accountability and consequences for one’s actions in maintaining a harmonious and lawful society.
