Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) recently held a meeting with the Manama Souq Development Committee to discuss the ongoing souq development initiatives and the Authority’s efforts in enhancing the souq as a tourist destination. The CEO of BTEA, Her Excellency Sarah Buhijji, highlighted the importance of developing the Manama Souq to reflect Bahraini heritage and culture in a modern and organized manner. This initiative aims to showcase the rich history and identity of the Kingdom of Bahrain to visitors and tourists.
The members of the Manama Souq Development Committee were commended for their efforts and input in the souq development process. BTEA expressed its support for these endeavors, with a common goal of enhancing the prominence of Manama Souq as a key tourist destination in Bahrain. The souq is considered a cultural treasure for visitors to the Kingdom and the capital city of Manama, contributing to its historical, cultural, and human heritage.
The CEO of BTEA emphasized the importance of the events program organized within the Manama souq, showcasing events such as the “Mosqaf Evenings” series, which featured a variety of Ramadan events and activities. These events are crucial in increasing the number of visitors to the souq, including citizens, residents, and tourists from around the world. Additionally, these events help boost commercial and tourism activities within the souq, contributing to its overall growth and development.
The Manama Souq serves as a hub for both locals and tourists to explore traditional Bahraini products, crafts, and cultural experiences. The ongoing development initiatives aim to enhance the visitor experience by creating a more organized and modernized environment while preserving the authenticity and heritage of the souq. By showcasing the unique identity of Bahrain through the souq, the Kingdom can attract more visitors and promote its cultural heritage to a global audience.
The collaboration between BTEA and the Manama Souq Development Committee highlights the importance of working together to achieve common goals in enhancing Bahrain’s tourism sector. By focusing on the souq’s development and promotion as a key tourist destination, both parties aim to attract more visitors, boost local businesses, and contribute to the overall economic growth of the Kingdom. Through strategic planning and investment in cultural events and activities, the Manama Souq can continue to thrive as a vibrant and dynamic destination for both locals and tourists.
In conclusion, the partnership between BTEA and the Manama Souq Development Committee signifies a shared commitment to preserving Bahrain’s cultural heritage and promoting the Kingdom as a top tourist destination in the region. By prioritizing the development and organization of the Manama Souq, Bahrain can attract more visitors, create new opportunities for local businesses, and showcase its rich history and traditions to a global audience. Through continued collaboration and investment in tourism initiatives, the Manama Souq can continue to evolve as a cultural treasure that celebrates Bahraini heritage and identity.
