Muscat: The forecasts and analyses of the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center indicate that the Governorate of Dhofar will be affected by clouds advection starting from this evening (Tuesday, 30 April 2024) until Saturday, 4 May 2024) associated with scattered rains of varying intensity. It is expected that heavy rains ranging between (30 to 80 mm) on Thursday (2 May 2024) will lead to the flow of wadis.
Additionally, the forecasts indicate that the Sultanate of Oman will be affected by a trough of low pressure starting from Thursday (2 May 2024) to Saturday (4 May 2024). Thus, clouds conviction expected gradually during the day on Thursday over the governorates of Al Buraimi, Musandam, A’Dhahira, A’Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, and Muscat, then extending during the evening to cover the governorates of North A’Shargiyah, South A’Sharqiyah and Al Wusta.
Rains of varying intensity, ranging between (20 – 60 mm), expected during the period leading to the flow of wadis. The peak of the weather condition will be on Thursday, 2 May 2024.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) advises all to take precaution during rainfall that will cause flash flood. It urges the public to check visibility level and sea state before sailing and follow the issued weather bulletins and reports.
