The Indian Navy’s search and rescue operation for the crew of the capsized oil tanker MV Prestige Falcon has been successful in recovering nine crew members, including eight Indians and one Sri Lankan national. The operation, spearheaded by the warship INS Teg, continues as efforts are made to locate the remaining missing crew members. The Indian government, led by Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh, is closely monitoring the situation and providing assistance to the affected families.

The MV Prestige Falcon capsized about 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madrakah, Oman, prompting the Indian Navy to swiftly launch a search and rescue mission. The rescue operation involved advanced equipment and personnel to locate and assist the crew stranded in the treacherous waters. The successful recovery of nine crew members has been a relief, but efforts continue to find the remaining missing individuals.

Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh expressed relief at the successful rescue of the eight Indian nationals and offered condolences to the family of the deceased crew member. He thanked both Indian and Omani authorities for their efforts in the rescue operation. The Indian Embassy in Oman has also been actively involved in coordinating the search and rescue efforts in collaboration with Omani authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the rescued crew members.

The Indian Navy’s Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft P8I is also involved in the ongoing search for any additional survivors. The Navy continues to work closely with Omani authorities to locate the missing crew members and provide assistance in the search and rescue operation. The Indian government remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals affected by the capsizing of the MV Prestige Falcon.

The successful rescue of the eight Indian nationals and one Sri Lankan crew member is a testament to the dedication and efforts of the Indian Navy and Omani authorities in conducting the search and rescue operations. The joint efforts of both countries have been instrumental in ensuring the safety of the rescued crew members. The Indian government’s continuous monitoring and support for the affected families demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of Indian nationals and their families in times of crisis.
