The echoes of gunfire have faded at the traditional shooting range in Amerat, Oman, following the successful conclusion of the annual Amerat Shooting Competition on Saturday. This year’s event, organized by the Amerat Traditional Shooting Committee under the auspices of the Omani Committee for Traditional Weapons Shooting, was a highlight of the Muscat Nights 2026 celebrations, drawing a remarkable display of skill and heritage. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from across the Sultanate, reaffirming the enduring popularity of this traditional Omani sport.

  • Hamed bin Salem Al Kathiri – First Place
  • Saleh bin Salem Al Balushi – Second Place
  • Abdullah bin Khalfan Al Aufi – Third Place
  • Saeed bin Mohammed Al Darai – Fourth Place
  • Hamad bin Awais Al Darai – Fifth Place

These veteran shooters represent a wealth of knowledge and skill, serving as role models for aspiring competitors. Their dedication to preserving the traditions of traditional Omani shooting is commendable.

  • Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Masfari – Second Place
  • Khamis bin Salem Al-Khuwaidri – Third Place
  • Asaad bin Rashid Al-Kalbani – Fourth Place
  • Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Hinai – Fifth Place
