The Ministry of Education in Bahrain has recently announced a plan for scholarships and grants allocated to Bahraini students who graduated from the academic year 2023-2024 with an average of 90% or above in public and private schools. A total of 1,600 scholarships will be available for students with an average of 95% or more, while around 2,400 grants will be granted to students with an average of 90% to 94.9%. The scholarships and grants aim to support the educational process in the country and are a testament to the significant support received from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister.

The only criterion for scholarship and grant competition is the student’s cumulative GPA. Students who achieved a cumulative GPA of 95% or more will be eligible for a scholarship in their chosen field if they choose to study at the University of Bahrain or Bahrain Polytechnic, provided they meet the university’s admission standards. The Ministry of Education has also expanded this year’s scholarship plan to include opportunities in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait for various specializations such as nursing, medicine, engineering, and arts/literary track.

In collaboration with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen,” the number of scholarships in nursing has increased from 120 to 300 this year due to the high demand and employment opportunities in the health sector. Additionally, scholarships are available for seats in medicine, engineering, and other university specializations to support students in pursuing higher education in their desired fields. The Ministry of Education’s focus on providing scholarships and grants reflects its commitment to promoting excellence in education and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.

Outstanding students who graduated in the academic year 2023-2024 with a cumulative average of 95% or more are invited to compete for scholarships by visiting the Ministry’s website or the national portal of Bahrain to complete registration procedures. The registration will be open from Wednesday, 10 July 2024, at 8:00 AM until the end of Saturday, 13 July 2024. Students with a cumulative average of 90% to 94.9% who wish to benefit from grants are advised to send the completed form listed on the Ministry of Education website to the specified email address immediately after obtaining university acceptance.

For further inquiries regarding scholarships and grants, students can contact the Information Systems Directorate – User Service through phone, text messaging service via WhatsApp, or email during official working hours. The Ministry of Education remains dedicated to supporting Bahraini students in pursuing higher education and achieving academic excellence through scholarships and grants designed to help them fulfill their potential and contribute to the development of the country.
