The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) recently made a significant bust at the Jadidat Arar Crossing on the northern Iraq border. A total of 349,710 Captagon pills were seized during the operation, and four individuals were arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt. These drugs were cleverly hidden within a consignment of tile polishing equipment, but thanks to the vigilance of ZATCA and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, the attempt was foiled.

ZATCA is dedicated to intensifying customs control of the Kingdom’s imports and exports to prevent illegal activities like smuggling. The authority is focused on ensuring the safety of society and will continue to stay alert to thwart any future smuggling attempts. The public is encouraged to play a role in combating smuggling by reporting any suspicious activities to ZATCA. Reports can be made by contacting the authority at the designated number for security reports, 1910, via email, or through an international number. Confidentiality is guaranteed, and whistleblowers may receive a financial reward if their tip leads to a successful bust.

The recent interception of Captagon pills at the Jadidat Arar Crossing highlights the importance of effective customs control in protecting societies from the dangers of drug trafficking. ZATCA’s swift action in collaboration with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control has prevented a significant quantity of drugs from reaching the streets and potentially causing harm to individuals. The authority’s commitment to combating smuggling is evident in its proactive approach and willingness to engage the public in the fight against illegal activities.

It is crucial for authorities like ZATCA to remain vigilant and proactive in their customs control efforts to disrupt the activities of criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking and other illicit activities. By strengthening customs control measures and leveraging technology and intelligence capabilities, authorities can enhance their ability to detect and intercept illegal goods at border crossings. The recent success at the Jadidat Arar Crossing serves as a testament to the effectiveness of these efforts and underscores the importance of ongoing cooperation between various agencies in combating smuggling.

The public plays a vital role in supporting authorities like ZATCA in their efforts to combat smuggling and illicit activities. By staying vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities or packages, individuals can help prevent illegal goods from entering the country and protect their communities from the dangers of drug trafficking and other criminal activities. ZATCA’s commitment to confidentiality and offering rewards to whistleblowers demonstrates its dedication to leveraging the support of the public in its fight against smuggling.

In conclusion, the recent interception of Captagon pills at the Jadidat Arar Crossing is a clear example of ZATCA’s commitment to enforcing customs control and preventing illegal activities. By working closely with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control and engaging the public in reporting suspicious activities, the authority has successfully thwarted a major smuggling attempt. This success underscores the importance of effective customs control measures in protecting societies and demonstrates the value of collaboration between various agencies and the public in combating smuggling.
