274 applicants attracted to the eleventh edition of the National Research Contest

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation in Muscat has recently concluded the registration process for the 11th National Research Award. A total of 274 applications were submitted for the award, with 167 coming from researchers holding a doctorate (PhD holders) and 107 from non-PhD holders. These applications were distributed across various segments including health and community service, environment and vital resources, education and human resources, culture, social and basic sciences, energy and industry, and communications and information systems.

The National Research Award aims to recognize and celebrate excellence in scientific research in Oman. It is given to six winners in each of the two categories mentioned above. Category 1 is dedicated to the “Best Published Scientific Research” submitted by holders of a PhD or its equivalents, while Category 2 is for non-PhD holders. The winners of the award will be honored in December 2024 in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the field of research.
