2024 T20 World Cup: Everything you should know – Latest Updates

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is set to kick off in the United States and West Indies, with the defending champions England looking to secure their third title. The tournament will feature 20 teams divided into four groups, with teams facing off in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super 8s, followed by the semifinals and final. Games will be held at nine stadiums across the two host countries, with the final taking place at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

The tournament will run from June 1-29, with the opening match featuring hosts United States against Canada. The teams are divided into groups A, B, C, and D, with heavyweights like India, Pakistan, England, and Australia expected to put up strong performances. The format includes two points for a win, one point for a tie or no result. The top two teams from each Super 8s group will advance to the semifinals, with the winners set to battle it out for the prestigious title.

Stadiums in West Indies include Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Kensington Oval, Providence Stadium, Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, Arnos Vale Stadium, and Brian Lara Cricket Academy. In the United States, games will be held at Central Broward Park, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, and Grand Prairie Stadium. The final will take place at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, which has a capacity of 28,000 spectators. The tournament has seen past winners like India, Pakistan, England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Australia, and England.

The prize money for the T20 World Cup 2024 is yet to be announced, but with the stakes high and top teams vying for the title, the competition is expected to be intense. Fans can look forward to exciting matches, thrilling moments, and exceptional performances from some of the best cricketing nations in the world.
