The Times of Oman and Muscat Media Group recently hosted their annual Business Leadership Summit at The St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat, celebrating eighteen of Oman’s most impactful leaders and companies. The event, themed “Redefining Leadership for Business Excellence,” brought together top executives, government officials, and innovators working towards Oman’s Vision 2040 goals. Chief Guest, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, His Excellency Qais Al Yousef, presented the Times Business Leadership Awards. The Chairman of Muscat Media Group highlighted the importance of collective commitment to Oman’s vision, encouraging leaders to develop resilient business models, nurture local talent, and support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for economic growth.

The keynote address was delivered by Mohammed bin Mahfoodh Alardhi, Executive Chairman of Investcorp, who shared insights from his personal journey and emphasized the importance of leadership in navigating an ever-changing business landscape. Alardhi stressed the need for leaders to stay adaptable, focus on innovation, and empower their teams to embrace emerging technologies for sustainable growth. He highlighted Oman’s commitment to economic diversification as a key strategy for mitigating global uncertainties. Alardhi’s experiences in the Royal Air Force of Oman taught him valuable lessons in discipline, teamwork, and resilience, which have been instrumental to Investcorp’s success through various economic challenges.

The summit recognized eighteen leaders and institutions from various industries for their outstanding contributions to Oman’s development, showcasing excellence, integrity, and commitment across all sectors. Award categories ranged from technology and finance to healthcare and environmental sustainability, highlighting the diversity and impact of Oman’s business leaders. The event was a celebration of innovation, resilience, and community impact, setting a high standard for current and emerging leaders in Oman’s business landscape. Copies of Al Ardhi’s bestselling book, “Connecting to the Future,” were generously gifted to attendees, offering valuable insights into building a successful blueprint for dynamic company growth and large-scale success.

Notable awardees included OQEP for IPO of the Year, National Biscuit Industries for Company of the Year in snacks food manufacturing, and Marafiq for Company of the Year in utilities. Other winners included Oman Oasis Water Company, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, and Bank Muscat, among others, recognizing excellence in their respective fields. Leadership accolades were also given to individuals excelling in digital transformation, insurance, education, and luxury real estate, showcasing the diverse talent and innovation driving Oman’s business sector. The prestigious “Business Leader of the Year” award went to Mohammed Mahfoodh Alardhi, recognizing his significant contributions to Oman’s business landscape and global investment leadership.

The Business Leadership Summit served as a catalyst for progress, highlighting the transformative role of leadership in Oman’s journey towards a prosperous and innovative future. The event underscored the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors, innovation, and sustainable growth in achieving national goals and global competitiveness. Through recognizing outstanding leaders and companies, the summit aimed to inspire current and emerging business minds to redefine excellence, drive innovation, and contribute to Oman’s continued development and success.
