14 usufruct contracts signed for investment in Oman’s agriculture sector

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in Muscat recently signed 14 usufruct contracts totaling over OMR8.3 million in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. These contracts focus on various agricultural activities such as breeding poultry, cultivating frankincense, raising livestock, beekeeping, and growing crops like wheat, coffee, and date palm trees. Additionally, the contracts also include the establishment of farms for producing figs, papaya fruits, seedlings, and rearing goats in five different governorates: Dhofar, A’Dakhiliyah, North A’Sharqiyah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, and Muscat.

The contracts were signed by Eng. Hamad Ali Al Nazwani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for Housing, along with representatives from companies and institutions investing in these agricultural projects. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture, as well as officials from the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED). This collaboration between various ministries and organizations highlights the government’s commitment to promoting investment and growth in the agriculture sector.
